HCTF staff have a solid background in building science and implementation of proven green building construction practices during everystage of the home building process.
Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Rater
High Country Timberframe has a HERS rater on staff. The HERS index is a scoring system established by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). Home designs are analyzed and scored according to variables that determine their energy efficiency. Once the structure is complete, the actual score of the home is determined.
The Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA)
HCTF is a member of SIPA and is one of the few Certified SIPS Panel Installers in Western North Carolina.
Lead Renovation Training
HCTF is trained to identify and test for the presences of lead paint and certified in the appropriate removal practices of lead-based paint. in 2010, the State of North Carolina adopted the 2008 EPA rule addressing lead-based paint hazards created by renovation, repair and painting activities that disturb lead-based paint in target housing and child-occupied facilities.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Training
All of the HCTF staff is trained in construction safety and health.
